Blankets for Babies
Last year our Nicaragua team raised money for kids packs for a kids party. We bought over 200 kids packs and the smiles on the kids’ faces made the effort well worth it.
When we were in Nicaragua last year we met many young women in their teens with children of their own. Due to incest and rape, many young women are getting pregnant, some as young as 12 years old. There is a place where young women and women in trouble can go to have their babies. However, this place is very low on supplies. Instead of wrapping a newborn baby in a blanket after birth, they have to tear up shirts.
This year, our team is asking people to donate new baby clothes and make blankets that we can take to this home for pregnant women.
